New Baby at Home

There are very few baby gear items that I truly love. Bringing home the third baby has shown me that there are benefits to having baby gear. There are 2 things that we have that I now find essential. First is the Ring Sling. It is an adjustable baby carrier. I made a couple of them during my nesting phase of pregnancy. They are so great. I thought ahead and made them with a pocket on the end big enough for wipes, keys, wallet, and a diaper. It has come in real handy since Natalie, just like Anna, hates her car seat and would rather be held. She loves to be snuggled in and carried everywhere.

The other is the swing. Our old swing died a well deserved death after living through 6 babies. (all of our baby items were shared with friends). So, we bought a new swing. The little lamb swing. It is so great. Natalie seems to really like it. It is all we can do to keep Anna out of the swing. Why don't they make them for kids?

Natalie is a great baby. She came home from the hospital sleeping about 4 - 5 hours in a row at night and eating every 2 hours during the day. I don't know what we would have done if she was not a sleeper. I forgot how much time one spends nursing a new baby. I felt like I was sitting on the couch all day attached to a baby. It has sense gotten better. I have been able to get out and have gotten really good at feeding her away from home. I never got out this much this early when the other 2 were babies. It does wonders for mental health!
