In the Hospital

John stayed with us the first night in the hospital but the next day he went home early to help Heather get the girls up and dressed and up to see us. They did pretty well, Anna was fascinated with the baby for about 5 minutes and then wanted to investigate the room.

Maddie would have sat and held Natalie for hours, as long as she was quiet.
Since Natalie was born at 7pm, yes at shift change, I am sure they were thrilled with me!, I decided to stay the next night. People without kids or people having their first thought I was crazy wondering why I didn't want to go home that first night. The people with more than one kid thought it was a great idea. I didn't have to get them ready for bed or ready for school. Natalie and I had our own little nest and bubble of quiet. All I had to do was feed and hold her. I didn't have to cook or do laundry or answer the phone, it was great. It was one of the best things for me. She and I got our only alone time to get to know each other!
