Phew! I know for young kids christmas is the most wonderful day of the whole year. There are presents and yummy food and cousins to play with and no concern for how it all gets done. The girls had so much fun but John and I were worn out. Christmas Eve we all took food and the kids out to my grandmothers house for dinner. The girls had fun. They got to open a few things and eat endless junk.(there were many, many, many cookies and m&m's). Maddie is the one in the picture with her head in her stocking I am sure looking for more candy!
When we got home John and I set up the play room for Christmas morning. We got them a wooden kitchen and all kinds of food and stuff to go with it. Maddie also got a new sleeping beauty night gown that she would take off for bath time and then put it back on. She wore it for 3 days when I took it for washing.
Anna loved having the baby area in the play room. We moved the baby crib and changing table out from under the stairs. She carried that doll milk bottle around for days sucking on it. Her little doll in the highchair got to eat all kinds of stuff all morning that she cooked in the new kitchen.
Heather and the kids and my parents came over that afternoon. John and I were so tired we showered and put on clean pj's. I made my favorite breakfast for dinner. It was go great and easy. Everyone ate lots and then we opened more presents. It was so nice. We got to stay home all day. The girls were happy to be home with all of their new stuff and after running around so much the week before. We had a great day. I feel I have so much to be thankful for our wonderful family and group of friends. I feel so blessed.
